The resort offers a range of tours including day tours from the resort and inclusive tours with meals, accommodation and transfers from Townsville. The tours enable guests to explore the local area with a personal guide, adding to the Australian bush experience and covering the unique animals, ecosystems and landscape within the Hidden Valley area. These include: Platypus and Nocturnal Safaris, Running River Gorge Tour, Paluma Rainforest Village and Lake Paluma Tour, Solar Education Tour and extended four-day tours departing from Townsville.
Hidden Valley Cabins offers guests a wide range of activities, including the above tours, bushwalking, bird-watching, swimming (in the resort pool or fresh water pools nearby), four-wheel driving and exploring the World Heritage Rainforest.
Paluma Range National Park
Paluma Range National Park, the southern gateway for the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, is a picturesque rainforest framed by waterfalls and rises 1,000m above the Big Crystal Creek floodplain to the quaint Paluma village. The Mt Spec area of the national park offers a range of recreational opportunities including walks and bird watching.
Paluma Push - The resort hosts the Paluma Push, Queensland’s largest mountain bike race each July. It is a point to point mountain bike race catering to riders of all ages and skill levels. The event starts from the historic Paluma Village via Paluma Dam and travels through World Heritage Rainforest and onto the big timber and open cattle country, before finishing at Hidden Valley Cabins. A beautiful ride and a fun and challenging event.
